March 13 – 14 Inventory Control Syllabus

Two Days – The Inventory Control class explains the correct procedures for managing daily inventories (of fuel and oil stocks) and the closing procedures within TMS6. Topics include:

  • Transaction entry
  • Stock accounting
  • Product and tank configuration
  • Daily and monthly inventory balancing
  • Reporting

To demonstrate and reinforce the topics the participants will engage in exercises for each of the areas discussed using Toptech supplied equipment.  These lab exercises will account for at least 25% of classroom time.

Who should attend: TMS6 users wanting a more specific understanding of managing inventory. Pre-requisites for the class: participants should have TMS6 training or experience using TMS6.

March 26 – 30 MultiLoad II and TMS6 Overview Syllabus

Five Days – Two overview classes combined into a week of introduction to the MultiLoad II and TMS6. The class will cover the basic areas of Multiload II to provide the participants with a better understanding of the steps involved setting up /diagnosing the Multiload II and SMP in standalone and remote control functions.  To demonstrate and reinforce the topics the participants will engage in exercises for each of the areas discussed using Toptech supplied equipment.  These lab exercises will account for at least 25% of the time spent in training.

The TMS6 class will cover the basic areas of TMS6 providing the participant (s) an understanding of the TMS6 –Terminal Automation System and its basic functionality.  To demonstrate and reinforce the topics the participants will engage in exercises for each of the areas discussed using Toptech supplied equipment.  These lab exercises will account for at least 25% of the time spent in training.

Who should attend: Individuals with some terminal business knowledge or some experience with TMS5 or TMS6.

May 23 – 24 TMS6 Help Desk  Syllabus

Two Days – The Help Desk training is a deep dive into the how TMS6 is configured and operates in the Linux operating system. TMS6 Help Desk is not for the beginning user or technically curious manager; it is very detailed training designed for those Toptech customers who provide their own level one help desk support of TMS6. Some of the areas covered include:

  • Start up scripts,
  • Configuration files,
  • System processes that drive TMS,
  • MySQL database schemas, table and field structures,
  • MySQL query and browsing tools,
  • Opto-22 and PLC configuration,
  • Field communication diagnostics,
  • And more.

Who should attend: Individuals with experience in MultiLoad II, TMS6, Linux and MySQL. A basic understanding of the command line environment is expected.

July 10 – 11 MultiLoad II Syllabus

Two Days - The class will cover the basic areas of Multiload II to provide the participants with a better understanding of the steps involved setting up and diagnosing the Multiload II and SMP in standalone and remote control functions.  To demonstrate and reinforce the topics the participants will engage in exercises for each of the areas discussed using Toptech supplied equipment.  These lab exercises will account for at least 25% of the time spent in training.

Some of the lessons include:

  • Differences between SMP and MultiLoad II,
  • Different types of blends and parameters,
  • Communication choices,
  • Handling configuration files,
  • Reporting,
  • Firmware updates,
  • Setting up products, drivers, hazard messages,
  • FCM mapping,
  • Printing and reprinting tickets,
  • Using Ticket Builder,
  • Importing and exporting ticket formats,
  • Proving and calibrating, and much more.

 Who should attend:  There are no pre-requisites for this class.

July 24 – 26 TMS6 Overview Syllabus

Three Days – The TMS6 class will cover the basic areas of TMS6 providing the participants an understanding of the TMS6 –Terminal Automation System and its basic functionality.  This course is intended for individuals with little or no TMS6 experience, but that have basic business or Terminal Management understanding.  To demonstrate and reinforce the topics the participants will engage in exercises for each of the areas discussed using Toptech supplied equipment.  These lab exercises will account for at least 25% of the time spent in training.

Some of the lessons include:

  • Toptech terminology,
  • TMS6 overview,
  • Using the Client Manager
  • Starting, stopping and replication,
  • Security,
  • TMS profiles and key fields
  • System parameters,
  • Bulk and non-bulk transactions,
  • Tank master, tank strapping and tank viewer,
  • Bills of lading,
  • Terminal balancing, stock accounting,
  • Co-mingled stock,
  • Gain and loss transactions,
  • Disaster recovery,
  • Managing terminal access and alarm management, and much more.

Who should attend: Pre-requisites for the classes include some terminal business knowledge or some experience with TMS5 or TMS6 preferred.

Sept 4 – 5 TopHAT Introduction Syllabus

Two Days – TopHAT introduction is a basic explanation of the core features of TopHAT and how it interfaces with TMS6. Prospective students should have a basic knowledge of terminal business. The course is designed for individuals who will be supporting and utilizing TopHAT.  To demonstrate and reinforce the topics a set of exercises will be performed by the class using Toptech supplied equipment.  These lab exercises will account for at least 25% of the time spent in training. The goals of the course include:

  • Provide an understanding of how TopHAT works and how it can be utilized to meet corporate business requirements.
  • Educate the users to effectively use a centralized system to manage data and evaluate movements required by the business on TopHAT.
Some of the lessons include:
  • TopHAT reporting,
  • Terminal maintenance using TopHAT,
  • Using the Toptech Connection Manager,
  • Terminal EDI setup,
  • Monitoring communications,
  • Maintenance routing,
  • Audit processing,
  • Transaction archiving, and much more.

Who should attend: Individuals with some terminal business knowledge. No prior Toptech Systems product knowledge is required.
