Toptech Works with European User Community to Forge a Path for OSP Data Delivery and Management
On October 28th, 2010 Toptech Systems held a European-specific workshop to initiate dialogue about the exchange of data between petroleum trading partners. Ultimately, trading partners in Europe want control over and visibility into loading activities that occur at their non-owned terminals or outside supply points (OSPs). Towards this end, these customers want the ability to utilize lifting control tools (allocations, orders, credit) at and receive lifting data from OSPs, just as they would if they owned the terminal. The workshop, which was held at Toptech’s European office complex in Antwerp, represented a solid starting point for dialogue between Toptech Systems and major players in the European market.
In attendance were representatives from Toptech’s US and European office along with BP, Comfort Energie, Dial, ExxonMobil, Kuwait Petroleum, Lukoil, North Sea Group, and Shell.
Through the course of the workshop a number of topics were covered, including:
- Capabilities of TDS
- Data Protocols
- Allocation Management
- Credit Management
- BOL Data Delivery
- Order Processing
- ERP/Host Integration
Toptech remains committed to sustaining momentum and holding more of these sessions. Toptech’s goal is to work with the user community to establish a complete list of requirements to address the specific needs of the European market.
About TDS: Toptech Data Services (TDS) is a centralized data clearinghouse and data management portal in which all participants in the custody transfer process of fuels can receive valuable BOL (Bill-of-Lading) data as well as utilize allocation, credit, and order-based processing at outside supply points.
